Crimson Denied Ivy Championship
The defending Ivy League Champion Harvard softball team fell short of repeating last year’s success. Going for its second straight and fifth overall league title, the Crimson finished its season Saturday afternoon against Princeton at Class of 1895 Field, falling 4-2 and 5-1. The Tigers entered the series as South Division Champions and held the best record in the Ivy League. [STORY]

“I play a very simple, one or two touch game. I’m not a very fancy player; I just try to keep it simple and keep the ball moving.” So explains the Harvard women’s soccer team’s Lizzy Nichols, in her usual uncomplicated manner, when asked to describe her style of play.
Yet her inclusion in the sports pages, it would appear, bucks a general trend.

In sophomore Erik Kuld’s hometown, you can find ice hockey rinks and maple trees in every neighborhood. Snowy days are just as common as sunny ones and the temperature averages below 50 degrees seven months of the year.
Let’s just say Toronto isn’t your typical beach town.

Athlete of the Week: Christensen Lands on Top at Penn Relays

While junior Becky Christensen was busy last week getting old injuries examined, the Penn Relays were the farthest thing from her mind. But when doctors said her foot was cleared for jumping, she decided at the last minute to head off to Pennsylvania to compete with some of the best high jumpers in the country.
