The Harvard Crimson's 2020 Alumni Weekend

Welcome to Alumni Weekend

Update: Alumni Weekend has been postponed until the fall and we are assessing whether to convene a virtual meeting of the Graduate Council on May 2. Please check your email in the coming weeks for more details and email Crimson President Aidan F. Ryan '21 at president@thecrimson.com if you have any questions.

Dear Friends and Alumni of The Harvard Crimson:

It is my pleasure to invite you to The Crimson’s 2020 Alumni Weekend on May 1 and 2, including the cocktail party, Alumni Luncheon, and annual meeting of the Graduate Council. You can find the details of the event below.

This year, we are pleased to host a panel of some of our most prominent journalist alumni—including former News Executive Mary Louise Kelly ’93, former News Executive Sewell Chan ’98, and former Managing Editor Nicholas P. Fandos ’15.

Kelly is currently the co-host of NPR’s All Things Considered, an award-winning afternoon newsmagazine. She spent a decade as a national security correspondent for NPR News and first launched NPR's intelligence beat in 2004. Kelly’s writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, Atlantic, and other publications.

Chan currently serves as the deputy managing editor of the Los Angeles Times. He worked as a reporter at the Washington Post before spending 14 years at the New York Times, holding both reporting and editorial positions. Chan was most notably part of a team of reporters at the New York Times that won the Pulitzer Prize for their breaking news coverage that led to former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's resignation.

Fandos is a congressional correspondent for the New York Times and was on the front lines of President Donald Trump’s historic impeachment trial. He began covering Congress in 2017 and is part of a team of reporters who have chronicled investigations by the Justice Department and Congress into President Trump and his administration.

To RSVP, please fill out this form. We request $80 per person ($40 for graduates of the Class of 2015 and younger) to cover the cost of the lunch. If you are interested in sponsoring an undergraduate’s attendance, we would welcome $120. If you only plan to attend the cocktail party on Friday night, please contribute $20.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me (aidan.ryan@thecrimson.com) should you have any questions.

I look forward to seeing you there!
