An informal aggregation of soccer players, banding under the name of the "Crimson Booters," will take the field this afternoon for their initial practice, under the direction of John Kershaw, coach of the University soccer team.
Although the official season ended a week ago last Saturday, several of the players of the University and Freshman squads have banded together to continue playing as long as the weather permits, and are calling out prospective "Crimson Booters" from the ranks of all members of the University.
Practice will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Soldiers Field, and games have been planned with other informal teams, the first of which will be with a town aggregation from Read-villa on Saturday afternoon. On the following Saturday the Booters will clash with a Hopedale team, and some time during December it is hoped to take on a post-season team from Tufts.
