THE TRIANGULAR DEBATE.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard-Princeton division of the Intercollegiate Triangular Debate will take place this evening in Sanders Theatre. It is to be regretted that it conflicts with the Freshman Dinner in the Union, for this is one of the very rare opportunities we have to witness academic (as opposed to athletic) intercollegiate competition. At New Haven another Harvard team will meet Yale, while Princeton will argue against Yale at Princeton.

Some one has recently computed the time which the debating men spend annually in preparing for the trials and the final intercollegiate contest. Although not as much in actual minutes as the time consumed by football practice, the mental strain is thought to be quite as great. The Harvard men who speak this evening began "training" on February 15 with rehearsals every other evening, besides much outside work and individual coaching. We think that efforts like these deserve to be recognized by a large attendance tonight.
