A small but interested audience assembled at the meeting of the Harvard Union last evening. Men seemed diffident about accepting the offices, the assignment of which was the object of the meeting. W. C. Wait, '82, was re-elected president for the ensuing year; H. Putnam, '83, vice-president; E. A. Hibbard, '84, was chosen secretary, and E. S. Middleton, '85, treasurer. The chair postponed the appointment of the executive committee until the next meeting. The reading room committee was re-elected. The following is the treasurer's report; Dr. - Balance, $9.85; received from Harv. Leg., .85; assessments, $15.50; from reading room committee, $134; total, $160.20. Cr. - To janitor, $7; keys redeemed, $3; incidentals, $5.55; cash on hand, $10.65; balance with reading room committee, $15.29; bills paid, $118.71; total, $160.20. The subject for the next debate (date to be hereafter announced) is, "Resolved, That suffrage in the United States should be extended to women."
