The authorities have been very prompt this year, as a general thing, in having the snow cleared off of the walks in the yard. However, last Sunday they were not touched, and at a late hour yesterday afternoon they were only partially cleaned. To use a favorite expression of one of our would-be contributors, "The authorities have been singularly remiss in this matter."
