The Students' Position.

We'd gladly pay our Overseers

The respect that's due their age.

We'd like to feel that all they do

Is excellent and sage.

But when, with hile-bound bigotry,

They give the mandate flat

That nolens. volens, pray we must,-

We draw the line at that.

And, likewise, to our Faculty

We'd like to give all praise.

We'd like to grant that, when it acts,

It follows Wisdom's ways.

But when three Quixotes it permits

With windmills to combat,

And stop our crew from being coached,-

We draw the line at that.

Nay, even of that awful Three

We'd gladly think the best.

We'd love to find in what they've done,

The wisdom manifest.

But when, in raising foot ball up,

Upon foot ball they sat,

We did not say-"Well done! O Three."

We drew the line at that.
