Base Ball Convention.

The annual convention of the Intercollegiate Base Ball Association was held at Springfield on Friday. Each college was represented by three delegates. Winslow, '85, A. D. Claflin, '86, were the Harvard men.

The officers for the following year are: president, D. W. Mulvane, Yale; vice-presidents, C. R. Wylie, Jr., Princeton, and S. H. Williams, Amherst; secretary and Treasurer; G. P. Weeks, Dartmouth. Williams College was refused admission to the association. The championship for 1884 was awarded to Yale. The Spaulding Hall was adopted, and the new league rules with these exceptions. That the old rules for the pitcher, seven balls, and distance of batter from the plate are retained; also, a man will not be given his base it hit by a pitcher; a foul bound is not out, as last year.

Donovan of Boston, Grant of Lawrence, and Mykoff of Boston were chosen umpires. There will only be two games with Yale this year, unless each college wins one, in which case a third will be arranged.

The schedule of Games, and the umpires which will act at each are given below. The letter D. stands for Donovan, W. for Wykoff, and G. for Grant.
