The new astronomical observatory at Bates College will be connected by telegraph with the observatories at Harvard, Washington, Mt. Hamilton, Cal., and Greenwich, England. The telescope will be fifteen feet long with a twelve-inch aperture, and will be placed in a building eighty feet long on the top of Mt. David which is 400 feet high.
