Not content with the present rowing facilities in the gymnasium, the Yale 'Varsity crew has decided to place an other rowing tank in the gymnasium. Permission for the erection of the tank has not yet been granted by the faculty but no trouble is apprehended on that score. The new tank will be built beside the old one, over the place now occupied by the bowling alleys. The new tank will be very similar to the old, with the exception of the substitution of stone work for wood in some places. The cost is estimated at six hundred dollars. The class crews will make use of the new tank, as it has been found that the proper development of these crews is necessary for the formation of material for the University boat. The erection of this new tank has been found necessary, since the hydraulic machines, owing to old age, are almost useless.
