Nearly eighty men appeared in the trophy room last evening as candidates for the freshman crew. Captain Herrick gave a short talk on training and the work which must be done. He urged all members of the class to support their crew by every possible means and also advised the class to follow the precedent of last year of not electing a permanent captain until the crew becomes better acquainted. The annual screatch races will be rowed next Thursday. There will be six freshman crews. who will row under the charge of 'varsity crew men in two heats with a final heat between the winners.
