The 'varsity eleven was to have played Lafayette at Springfield this afternoon, but the management has received a telegram declaring the Eaton team's inability to keep the engagement, so the game has been declared off. Instead the eleven will play a picked team on Jarvis Field at half past two sharp. The 'varsity will play as follows: Cranston, P. Trafford, Newell and Hallowell; quarter-back, Dean; half-backs, Lake and Corbett; full-back, Trafford.
The picked eleven will be made up from the following men: Rushers, Crosby, Blanchard, Goldthwaithe, Bangs, Heard or Shaw, Alward, Mason; quarter-back, Harding or Burgess; halfbacks, Lee and Fearing; full-back, Frothingham. The following men will also be out: Mills, Davis, Shea, Fitzhugh and Henry.
Captain Cumnock wishes to announce that all men who were out yesterday must come out on Monday and give the 'varsity practice. Every man can now help by turning out.
