The annual Fall Tournament of the Longwood Club began yesterday. The grass courts were in excellent condition. This tournament is of especial interest because of the large number of Harvard men playing.

Following are the scores of the play in the preliminary round:- R. B. Hale, '91, beat B. Mitchell, 6-1, 6-3. Hale played swiftly and placed well. E. Wrenn, '92, beat Francis Blake, '93, 6-2, 6-1 by good volleying. Hugh Tallant, '91, beat A. F. Fuller 6-2, 6-1. Waterhouse beat Philip Manchester, '93, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. G. F. Brown, Jr., '92, beat P. Mansfield 6-2, 6-0. F. H. Hovey, L. S., beat H. G.
