The nine defeated the Stonehams at Stoneham Saturday afternoon in the presence of a large crowd. It was virtually Harvard against Harvard, as every member of the Stoneham team except Walsh was a Harvard man. The same was slow and uninteresting. The 'varsity was aided largely in scoring their runs by the errors of their opponents; most of Harvard's hits were made after the side should have been retired.

Hovey did not play and Captain Dean went to short stop in his place. Lowell '94 was put at second base and played a very creditable game. Cook played third base fairly well and batted strongly. The 'varsity battery work was good, Upton catching an excellent game.
