Freshman Games.

The freshman games yesterday were very poor from an athletic point of view. No records were broken and for the most part the times and distances made were very poor.

The best race of the day was the half mile run. For the first quarter the men were well bunched, then Williams, Corbin and Sawyer drew away from the field and the three made a game fight on the home stretch. Williams finally won in 2.07, Corbin second with Sawyer third.

The 100 yards and 220 yards flat were easy events for F. H. Bigelow, who finished yards ahead of the field in both races. The two mile bicycle was a farce. The pace was so slow that at the end of the first lap the men were called back and started again.

On account of the darkness the pole vault had to be postponed and will come off this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Following is the summary of events:

220 yds. hurdles - First, H. M. Adams; second, P. C. Long. Time, 29 1-4 sec.

100 yds. dash - First, F. H. Bigelow; second, J. W. Edson. Time, 10 3-5 sec.

2 mile bicycle - First, D. H. Bradley, Jr.; second, E. Warner. Time, 6 min. 29 1-5 sec.

440 yds. dash - First, J. R. Crocker; second, J. C. Rice. Time, 57 4-5 sec.

1 mile run - Won by R. T. Prall; second, G. H. Kinnicutt. Time, 5 min. 11 sec.

880 yds. run - Won by C. H. Williams; second, L. P. Corbin. Time, 2 min. 7 sec.

220 yds. dash - Won by F. H. Bigelow; second, M. L. Butler. Time, 23 3-5 sec.

Throwing the hammer - Won by W. D. Hennen; second, W. H. Wheelock. Distance, 85 ft. 7 in.

Putting the 16 lb. shot - Won by G. P. Morey, Jr.; second, W. D. Hennen. Distance, 32 ft. 1 in.
