Dr. Jonathan W. Bemis, one of the oldest physicians of Cambridge, died of pneumonia at his home, on Sunday morning, after an illness of only three days. For some time he had not been in active practice. Dr. Bemis was eighty-three years of age. He had graduated from Harvard in the class of 1830, and from the Harvard Medical School, of which he was one of the oldest living graduates.
