Yesterday afternoon at Andover the 'varsity was scored against for the first time this season. The game was decidedly one-sided, and had it not been for Harvard's inexcusable offside playing and fumbling, the academy would not have scored. Several times the ball was given to Andover when dangerously near Harvard's goal line, on account of offside play, and once a goal from the field was kicked.

The academy team played a plucky game, and although no match for Harvard's strength, their ends were frequently able to tackle our backs through the interference.

Rodgers, Hazen, Greenway, and Letton did excellent work for Andover, Letton's kicking and tackling being especially fine. For Harvard, Newell, Emmons, and Wrightington did the best work.

Andover gained 10 yards, but was soon forced to kick. Harvard advanced the ball to Andover's 5 yard line, when Acton fumbled. Andover, however, fumbled in turn, and Gould, securing the ball, made a touchdown. Andover was soon forced to kick, and Harvard advanced the ball to Andover's 10 yard line. Acton's offside play lost the ball, but when Harvard had regained it, Clarke made a run of 35 yards and secured a touchdown. Wilson scored the third touchdown after Harvard had lost the ball twice, through miserable fumbling.

Andover was again unable to gain, and punted to Brewer who made a beautiful run. Gould then made a poor pass to Brewer, who fumbled, and Hazen, securing the ball, ran 35 yards before Brewer tackled him. Andover gained a little, and with five yards for offside play, carried the ball to Harvard's 10 yard line, when Letton kicked a goal from the field.

Harvard settled down to work after this, and, although losing the ball once for offside play, secured six more touchdowns before the game was called. Wrightington made the last one, after a run of 105 yards.
