Spring Trip of the Nine.

We give below summaries of the 'varsity nine on its spring trip. The result of the games is peculiar. Out of a total of five games played two resulted in a tie. The second game with the University of Pennsylvania was prevented by rain so that matters stand even, the first game having been a tie. The Georgetown University succeeded in beating Harvard. The summaries are given under the days and dates when the games were played.

WEDNESDAY, APR. 5.Harvard 14. Lehigh 2.

Wednesday afternoon Harvard beat Lehigh at Bethlehem by a score of 14 to 2. The Lehigh team was largely an experiment and the game amounted to little more than so much practice. Sullivan, Hallowell and Upton did good work for Harvard. The score by innings was as follows:

THURSDAY, APR. 6.Harvard 12. U. of P. 12.

The second game of the trip resulted in a tie with the U. of P., 12 to 12. In the third inning U. of P. had 9 runs when Harvard had not scored. Highlands was very wild and Wiggin was put in for the last three innings. Beginning with the fourth, Harvard made a fine uphill fight but could not win.

FRIDAY APR. 7.Harvard 2. Georgetown 3.

In Friday's game with Georgetown, Highlands was again very wild. Though Georgetown beat she was outbatted two to one by Harvard. Corbett and Frothingham did the best work for Harvard.

The second tie game of the trip was played at Charlottesville, Va. on Friday. The game was almost errorless on both sides. Sullivan did some excellent work at short. The score

MONDAY APR. 10.Rain prevented the second game with the University of Pennsylvania.

TUESDAY, APRIL 11.Harvard 2. Boston League 10.

In yesterday's game at Hartford, Harvard was beaten by the Boston team, 10 to 2. Stivetts, Nichols, and Bennett, Merritt, were the batteries for Boston.; Highlands and Corbett for Harvard. The Bostons made nine singles, Harvard three and Abbott a double, the only one of the game. Both teams made three errors. Corbett having one passed ball, Highlands two wild pitches. Abbott, Dickinson, Sullivan, Corbett struck out and of the Bostons Duffy, Nash, Bennett, Nichols 2.
