The game on Holmes yesterday was dull for the most part. but became interesting when Harvard began batting in the seventh inning. Howland hurt a finger in the preliminary practice and Evans was substituted. Three bases on balls in succession, a wild pitch and a passed ball, gave Harvard two runs at the start. Marlborough scored four in the same inning by a base on balls, three singles and Soule's muff of a popfly. After this no Harvard man got beyond first until the fifth inning, when the visitors became badly rattled and gave four runs on errors. In the last half of the same inning Marlborough made three unearned runs on a base on balls, a sacrifice, Dean's poor throw, Collins' being hit by a pitched ball and a wild pitch. In the seventh, with one out, Cummings hit to right for three bases and Mason followed with a double, but Linn went out at first and Mason was caught off third. Marlborough made another in the last of the same inning by a base on balls, a sacrifice and Hesli's hit. Dean led off the eighth with a home run. Trafford took first on a soratch hit, second on a steal and third on Alward's sacrifice; but Soule hit a liner to second and Trafford was doubled. This ended the run-getting. The score:

The third game of the series between the sophomores and the freshmen was closely contested. The sophomores took the lead at the start, but in the sixth inning the freshmen tied the game by timely batting after two men were out In the eighth Johnson had three strikes but reached first on an error, and Merriam's hard hit sent him home with what proved to be the winning run. The sophomores had a good chance to tie the game in the ninth inning but failed. The feature of the game was Cook's catch of Hallowell's long fly in the fourth inning. The score:
