In answer to the second call for candidates for the Freshman Mandolin Club the following men came out and were taken on for further trial: Hastings, Van Daell, Donaldson, and Edwards.
Freshman Glee Club.At a meeting of the candidates for accompanist to the Freshman Glee Club, N. G. Nichols was the only one who gave any promise at all. He will be taken on for further trial.
Pedagogical Club.A meeting was held in Sever 8 yesterday afternoon for the purpose of reorganizing the Pedagogical Club. The constitution was read and approved, and the following officers were elected: A. O. Norton, president; W. H. Smith, vice-president; G. I. Clapp, secretary and treasurer.
The object of the club is to promote in the University an interest in pedagogics by means of public lectures and discussion among members. It is proposed to have lectures by prominent men once a month.
Shakespeare Club.The weekly meeting of the Shakespeare Club was held last night, and the third act of "The Tempest" was read. The membership of the club, which has been limited to twelve, is being gradually increased to thirty.
Glee and Banjo Clubs.The 'Varsity Glee and Banjo Clubs gave their second concert of the season last night in Lynn. During the intervals of the concert Mr. George Riddle read selections.
