The preliminary round in doubles and one of the final matches in singles were played yesterday in the tennis tournament. The results were as follows:
Doubles-Preliminary Round.
Ingraham and Putnam beat Whitman and partner by default.
Ware and Scudder beat Thomas and Fitz 6-4, 6-0.
Singles.L. E. Ware beat R. C. Thomas, 6-3, 6-3.
P. Ingraham beat A. Codman by default.
The following matches will be played today:
Foster and Holt vs. Ingraham and Putnam (at 3.30).
Ware and Scudder vs. Wrenn and Read.
Singles-L. E. Ware vs. P. Ingraham (at 2.30).
