The freshman crew rowed as usual yesterday afternoon. The only change was that Fuller and Aldrich exchanged places. The crew will row today at 12.30. The men who are still rowing are: Rice, Ames, Woodward, Aldrich, Fuller, Butler, Scull, Goodrich, who are on the first crew; and Riggs, Barnes, Bull, Proctor, Scaife, Adams, Hurley and McBurney, who make up the second crew.
It has been found that the rowing machines run down when they are used for any considerable time, so that when the crews row a thousand strokes they are not working so hard at the finish as at the start. There has been no attempt to have the machines changed, but the attention of the coaches has been called to the matter.
Sophomore Crew. Now that several '97 men have been transferred from the 'varsity squad to the class crew, the make-up of the latter has undergone several important changes which, with a few exceptions, promise to be permanent. The two crews now in training, are rowing as follows:

Cornwell, Stroke, Buel.
Chapman, 7 Elder.
Williams, 6 Gleason.
White, 5 Capen.
Sleeper, 4 Rantoul.
Kernan, 3 Bowditch.
Dexter, 2 Little.
Phelps, Bow, Connor.
Cox., Orton.
