At the meeting of the Fencing Club Tuesday evening the secretary announced that the annual tournament with Columbia would take place the last part of March and that he hoped that there would be a large number of candidates for the team. The Harvard team, which won the championship last year, was composed of A. G. Thacher '97, J. E. Hoffman '96 and J. P. Parker '96. All three are in college this year but one of them may not be able to fence for several months on account of an injured shoulder. Yale was asked to take part in the contest last year, but in the last few days they had to withdraw. It is not likely that they will compete this year either, because of the lack of interest in fencing. The tournament will be held in the club house of the Racket and Tennis Club, New York.
