It has been practically settled that the boat race between the crews of Cornell, Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania will be rowed on the Hudson at Poughkeepsie. The course extends from one mile below the Poughkeepsie railroad bridge straight up the river for four miles. It is from three to eight fathoms deep throughout, and offers no advantage to the crew winning the toss.
