AMHERST, MASS., May 14. - The funeral services of ex-President Julius H. Seelye were held this afternoon at his residence and were attended by a large number of relatives and friends, including many alumni from out of town. Rev. C. M. Lamson, D. D., of Hartford, Conn., and Rev. John E. Tuttle, D. D., pastor of the college church, officiated, and music was furnished by a quartette of students. The pall bearers from the faculty were Professors D. P. Todd, W. L. Cowles, H. A. Frink, E. A. Grosvenor, J. M. Tyler and J. F. Genung. The board of trustees was represented by Rev. Dr. Lamson, G. Henry Whitcomb of Worcester, and George A Plympton of New York City, while the student body elected four representatives from each class at meetings held at the close of the chapel exercises in the morning, which took the form of memorial services, led by President Gates. Warm tributes were paid by Professors H. H. Neill, A. D. Morse, Edward Hitchcock and C. E. Garman.
