NEW HAVEN, CONN., Nov. 9.- The Yale 'varsity eleven practiced for an hour and a quarter this afternoon in a driving rain. The practice was secret for the first fifty minutes and then spectators were admitted. In spite of the bad weather conditions the men played in such a way as to encourage the numerous coaches on the field. Much attention was paid to the defensive play of the ends.
