The regular autumn work of transplanting and gathering into greenhouses all the more delicate plants in the garden is now almost completed. A few of the more hardy plants are left out all winter, but by far the larger number are kept in pots in the greenhouses. There they are re-labelled and put in condition to be set out again next spring.

The pond in the centre of the garden is being dredged, cleaned, and set in order for pond lilies to be started there next spring.

As the plants are now in the greenhouses, they offer an especially good chance for study, and are open to any men that care to see them.
