NEW STRENGTH RECORD.

Klein's Strength Test Record Broken by A. Lovering '97.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday afternoon at the Gymnasium Arthur Lovering '97 succeeded in breaking the record which E. Klein '95 had established for the strength test. Klein's record was 1529.2, while Lovering's total was 1660.

Aside from the decided raising of the total, the most remarkable features of the test were the strength of grip and the large figure recorded for the dip or push up. The individual tests are as follows:

Lungs, 37

Back, 410

Legs, 665

R. f. Arm, 85

L. f. Arm, 80

Chest and U. Arm, 383

Total, 1660

Lovering dipped 40 and chinned himself 17 times. His weight is 67.2. From these figures the strength of chest and upper arm is calculated.

Dr. Sargent announces that all men desiring to better their records so as to get on the list of "First Fifty" should make appointments for examinations to take place on or before March 20. The list is to be published in the Harvard Graduate's Magazine and must be given to the printers by April 1.
