Shot Putting Contest.

The second of the weekly shot-putting contests was held yesterday afternoon in the Gymnasium. Although but seven men competed the records were much better than last week. E. H. Clark L. S., who made the longest put last week, bettered his record three times yesterday, but C. J. Paine, Jr., '97 had a bad falling off. Clark's best puts were 37 ft. 10 1-4 in., 37 ft. 10 in., and 37 ft. 7 1-2 in. The longest puts of the other men were as follows:

C. J. Paine, J., '97, 36 ft. 2 in.; V. L. Littig L. S., 35 ft. 7 3-4 in.; F. G. Shaw '97, 35 ft. 7 1-2 in.; L. R. Brine '98, 34 ft. 9 3-4 in.; S. F. Mills '99, 34 ft. 1-4 in.; P. M. Jaffray '99, 33 ft. 6 in: Each contestant was allowed six puts.
