Yesterday afternoon at Longwood the Harvard cricket eleven of substitutes defeated the Zingari team in a two inning game by the score of 48 to 46. In the first inning Harvard was retired for 12 runs and the Zingari for 28 runs. In the second inning, by the good bowling of Comfort and Du Pont, the Zingari only made 18 runs; the Harvard eleven with six wickets to spare made the necessary runs and won the game just as time was called. For the Harvard eleven, Scattergood, with 25 not out, in the second inning did the best batting. Comfort and Du Pont had the best bowling averages, .66 and 2.8 respectively. For the Zingari, Hobson, with the average of 1.25, bowled well in both innings.

The make-up of the Harvard team was as follows: Carleton, Drinkwater, Crawford, Scattergood, Logan, Du Pont, Comfort, Webster, Beecher, Douglass, Cutting.
