The regular winter training for the Mott Haven team was begun on Wednesday. This light exercise, which consists of work with the chest weights and dumb-bells followed by practice-starts in the basement of the Gymnasium and running on the outdoor board track, is for the purpose of developing the muscles of the upper part of the body and gradually bringing the men into condition for the two chief sets of games of the year. These games are the dual games with Yale and the intercollegiate meet, which will be held on May 14 and 28 respectively.
Mr. Perrie, who has charge of the weight men, will coach them in the shot put, and give them exercise with dumbbells every afternoon.
There will be several sets of indoor games throughout the winter, the first being the B. A. A. meet, to be held Feb. 5. In this meet there will be several open events, the class relay race, the 'Varsity race with Yale, and possibly one with some other college team.
As there are many men who can come out to train only in the afternoon squads, it is desired that all who are able should train in the morning sections.
