In order further to increase undergraduate interest in charitable and philanthropic work the Student Volunteer Committee has decided to hold a University mass meeting during the first part of next year at which leading philanthropic workers of the country will give addresses.
It has also been decided to establish a Harvard settlement in East Cambridge, which will be under the personal supervision of a number of Harvard graduates and which will serve as a headquarters for all Harvard men who are interested in work of this kind. By such a plan, it is hoped that classes of people may be reached who are not influenced by the various charitable organizations of Boston and Cambridge.
