Professor A. B. Hart '80 has lately published a life of Salmon Portland Chase to form part of the American Statesman series.

The February number of the Forum contains an article entitled "Longivity and Degeneration," by W. R. Thayer '81, editor of the Harvard Graduates' Magazine.

M. Henri de Regnier, who is coming to this country to lecture for the Cercle Francais, has been asked to speak at Yale, Brown, University of California, Cornell, Chicago, Pennsylvania, Princeton and Williams.

Dr. Rodney True, professor of pharmacognosy at the University of Wisconsin, who is at present studying in the Graduate School, will give a series of twelve lectures on "Physiological Botany" during the second half-year.

A rough estimation of the number of books in the libraries of the principal American colleges shows that Harvard leads with 550,000 volumes; Chicago is next with 300,000; Columbia follows with 275,000, and the Cornell library contains 225,000 books.
