The Freshman nine was defeated by Exeter yesterday, 6 to 3. The Freshmen made six hits to Exeter's five, and played a good fielding game, but the hits were all scattered and the errors were costly. Comins pitched fairly well, but was outclassed by Clay of Exeter, who struck out twelve men and gave but two bases on balls. Sherlock and Dever each made two hits, but the rest of the team showed a falling off in batting. The best point in the game was the hitting of Barker, who made four of Exeter's five hits.
