New Golf Links in Waltham.

The Harvard Golf Club has just taken an option of eighty four acres of land on the Trapels road, between Waverly and Waltham. The land, which is known as the Wellington Farm, runs on both sides of the main road and can be reached by the electric cars in about forty minutes from Harvard square. The ground is rolling in character, and the turf is of excellent quality.

Steps will be taken immediately by the club to raise the money necessary for the purchase of the land. When purchased, it will be placed in the hands of three trustees who will hold the title to the links, but will lease the land to the club, which will have the privilege of purchasing at any time. The managing trustee is Stoughton Bell '96, one of the founders of the Harvard Golf Club.

It is at present the plan of the executive committee to devote this fall and next spring to the laying out of a nine hole course, so that the links will not be ready for use before the autumn of 1902. On the estate is a large farm house which can be turned into a very comfortable club house.
