The Freshman eleven defeated the Massachusetts Institute of Technology sophomores on Saturday by a score of 17 to 0. The Freshmen showed themselves superior in every department of the game, in spite of their ragged playing. Their interference formed loosely, started slowly and aided the runner little. The runners failed to charge at the line with any force and did not keep their feet. The failure of the ends to get down under punts quickly was perhaps partly due to the repeated holding by their opponents. There was a great deal of fumbling and off-side play on both sides.
Almost all the play was in M. I. T.'s territory and only once was the Freshman goal in serious danger, when in the first half, after an end run of 15 yards, M. I. T. tried a goal from the field from the 12 yard line. The kick was blocked, the Freshmen secured the ball, and Kidder punted out of danger.
