The University Crews.
Two crews in the University squad were formed yesterday with temporary orders. Frequent changes were made in Bancroft's boat, before reaching the Union Boat Club, so that all the men might be tried. The crews were coached from the launch by E. C. Storrow '89. Captain Bullard was in the launch. The orders were as follows:
Stroke, Brownell; 7, Lawrence; 6, Davis; 5, Loud; 4, Shuebrug; 3, Emory; 2, Blake; bow, Goodell.
Stroke, Bancroft; 7, Ayer; 6, McGrew; 5, McConnell (Henderson); 4, Henderson (Gregg); 3, Francis; 2, Derby (James); bow, Smith.
The Club Crews.
No crews rowed from the Newell yesterday. A senior and an intermediate crew were formed at the Weld and their temporary order is as follows:
Senior crew--Stroke, E. B. Roberts; 7, Hartwell; 6, Switzer; 5, Colby; 4, Brooks; 3, Richardson; 2, Wolcott; bow, Maltby.
Intermediate crew--Stroke, T. D. Roberts; 7, DuBois; 6, Farlow; 5, Adams; 4, Gignoux; 3, Hawes; 2, Fischel; bow, Blakie.
The Freshman Crews.
The Freshman crews were coached by W. E. Ladd '02 from the launch and by H. Bancroft 3L. from a single. They rowed by fours most of the time for short stretches. The temporary makeup of the crews is as follows:
First crew--Stroke, Minturn; 7, Parmeles; 6, Clapp; 5, Peabody; 4, Welldon; 3, Lloyd; 2, Phillips; bow, Dunbar.
Second crew--Stroke, Foster; 7, May; 6, hanisch; 5, Meier; 4, Lindsley; 3, Dillingham; 2, Hanford; bow, Chadwick.
Third crew--Stroke, Lindsay; 7, Cruger; 6, Nickerson; 5, Bleakie; 4, Sawyer; 3, Adams; 2, Seabury; bow, Fairchild.
