The candidates for the basketball team, including the Freshmen, will be called out on Friday of this week. J. W. Gilles 1L. has been engaged as head coach, and will be assisted by W. A. Monten '04, coach of the University of Minnesota team which last year defeated Yale.

The candidates for the team will be divided into class squads which will work together until the selection of the class teams. After the class schedule has been played off the University team and substitutes will be picked and the development of team work will be begun.
