BASKETBALL WITH CORNELL.

Game Tonight at Ithaca.--The Team Plays Continental A. A. Tomorrow.

The University basketball team will meet Cornell at Ithaca this evening in the second game of the series for the intercollegiate championship.

The University team held its last practice before the game, yesterday afternoon, when the men practiced baskets and passing and ran through a few signals. The team will line up tonight in a new order, Gilles and Bigelow taking the place of Story and Smith at forwards, while Smith replaces Linehan at centre. The men are all in good condition and with fairly steady team play the chances for a victory tonight are good. The fact that the game will take place on Cornell's grounds gives the Ithaca team a slight advantage. The Cornell team played its first game of the season last Saturday with Columbia, and was defeated by a score of 29 to 13.

After the game tonight the team will go to Schenectady and there meet the Washington Continental A. A. team tomorrow evening. The line-up tonight will be as follows: HARVARD.  CORNELL. Hanavan, r.g.  r.g., Brinckerhoff Fosdick, l.g.  l.g., Townsend Smith, c.  c., Wadsworth, Lyford Gilles, r.f.  r.f., Hermes Bigelow, Henderson, l.f.  l.f., Knapp

Following is the present standing of the teams in the Intercollegiate Association, based on the results of the games played:   Played.  Won.  Lost. Harvard,  1  1  0 Yale,  1  1  0 Columbia,  2  2  0 Princeton,  3  0  3 Cornell,  1  0  1
