Spring football practice will commence this afternoon on the Freshman baseball grounds at Soldiers Field. The time for the practice today will be 3.30 o'clock, but hereafter the hour will be fixed to suit the convenience of the candidates. An effort will be made to increase the importance of this period of the football training, and though the work will last only two weeks, it is expected to prove very helpful to those candidates who take part. Head coach Cranston will assist Captain Marshall in directing the work.
The practice, as outlined before, will be mainly elementary. Owing to the scarcity of quarterbacks and punters, a great deal of attention will be given to developing men who are qualified to fill these positions. Linemen and candidates for the other positions will also receive instruction.
