Mr. W. Starling Burgess '01 will lecture, under the auspices of the Yacht Club, this evening at 8 o'clock in the Fogg Lecture Room, on "Yachts and Yacht Designing."
As a marine architect, Mr. Burgess has been especially successful in designing small racing yachts, of which the best known are "Outlook," which last summer won the Quincy Cup for the 21 foot class, and "Little Haste," which won in the same class in the Massachusetts Yacht Racing Association regatta last year, and afterwards won from "La Rita," the championship of the Great Lakes.
The lecture will be illustrated by photographs of recent racing boats and by diagrams and models. It will be open to the public.
