The annual regatta of the Metropolitan Amateur Rowing Association will be held on the Charles River on Wednesday afternoon, June 17. In addition to the five regular open events for senior, intermediate and junior eights and senior and junior fours, there will be a special race for school eights open to all schools, whether members of the Interscholastic Rowing Association or not. All the races will probably be rowed down-stream, over the 1 1-2 miles course ending at the Union Boat Club.
It was originally planned to enter a junior, intermediate, and perhaps a senor, crew from both the Newell and Weld Boat Clubs. So far, however, only one crew, the junior, has been formed at the Weld. It was coached yesterday for a short time by Wray from the cox-swain's seat. The candidates for the Newell crews will report this afternoon and the men will begin work at once under the direction of Vail.
