GALES FERRY, June 11.--The work of the Yale crew was light today. The men rowed short, easy stretches and especial attention was given to the correction of individual faults. Later, the crew rowed a mile and a quarter upstream, and the work was very ragged and the recovery slow. The stroke was not higher than 28 except at the very end when it was raised to 32. In the work of the four-oared especial attention was given to improvement in form. The recovery, however, was very slow. Daly has an attack of chills and fever and will probably be out of the boat for about a week.
The practice of the freshman crew was also light. The men, however, showed better form than those in the other boats and their work was entirely satisfactory.
