POOR PRACTICE YESTERDAY

Defense of University Eleven Inconsistent.--Second Team Scored Once.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After a short signal drill yesterday afternoon, the University football team lined up for a scrimmage with the second eleven. The result was decidedly discouraging, for the University team, although it secured three touchdowns, played inconsistently on the offense, was weak on the defense, and fumbled frequently, several times enabling the second eleven to get possession of the ball on downs. By long runs around Montgomery's end and by good line-plunging, the second eleven was finally able to cary the ball over for a touchdown.

There will be one day of open practice next week before the team leaves for New Have.

The line-up: UNIVERSITY TEAM.  SECOND TEAM.
