Dr. Munro in Brooks House

Dr. W. B. Munro, instructor in Government, will speak on "The City as a Factor in National Life," at 7 o'clock this evening in the parlor of Phillips Brooks House. This will be the first of a series of talks on "Some Problems of the Modern City," which will be given once a week hereafter at the same place and hour.

Among the topics discussed in this series will be: The economic and political causes of urban concentration; the rural exodus and its causes; immigration and the municipal problems arising from congestion; the sociology of the slum; the political exploitation of the alien immigrant; naturalization and municipal politics; the municipal boss, his methods and the sources of his power; municipal problems arising from the identification of state and civic political parties.

These lectures will be open to all members of the University.
