The Freshman football candidates were given a long practice yesterday afternoon. The four teams, A, B, C and D, did not line up against each other as was expected, but instead were put through signal practice. Almost every man in the squad was on one of the elevens at some time during the practice. Afterwards the men were drilled in passing and falling on the ball and tackling the dummy. The work as far as could be judged was fairly satisfactory. Most of the men, however, who have reported so far lack weight and all heavy men in the Freshman class are urged to come out and try for the line positions.
