FRANKLIN FIELD, PHILADELPHIA, PA., November 11, 1905.--The weather is fine and clear, with a bright sun. The stands into which the people have been pouring for an hour are very nearly full. Bright spots of color are visible everywhere, where the adherents of the two teams are gathered en masse in the stands.

At 2.15 P. M. the captains and officials met in mid-field for the toss. Capt. Hurley won the toss and chose the west goal.

The teams lined up as follows: HARVARD.  PENNSYLVANIA. Leary, l.e.  r.e., Searlett Brill, l.t.  r.t., Lamson Burr, l.g.  r.g., Robinson Parker, c.  c., Torrey (capt.) Kersburg, r.g.  l.g., Hobson Squires, r.t.  l.t., Rooke Macdonald, r.e.  l.e., Levene Starr, q.b.  q.b., Stevenson Foster, l.h.b.  r.h.b., Greene Hurley, r.h.b.  l.h.b., Sheble Lockwood, f.b.  f.b., Folwell

Sheble toed the ball high to Captain Hurley. The ball came to Hurley who fell on it on the 10-yard line, but Umpire Edwards called the Pennsylvania team back for offside. The second try went to Lockwood who fumbled on the five-yard line. Starr recovered the ball and took it to the nine-yard line where he fell. On the first play Harvard fumbled and it was Pennsylvania's ball on the 10-yard line. Lamson was given the ball on the first rush, making two yards on the first down. The same man gained three yards on the second rush. After that it took just two rushes for Pennsylvania to go through and carry the ball over for a touchdown. Stevenson punted out to Sheble on the 15-yard line and the same man kicked the goal.

Captain Hurley chose to kick off. Burr kicked off to Sheble. He fumbled the kick. Kersburg got the ball on a fumble. A try on the line failed to make first down on the rushes and the ball went to Pennsylvania. On the 4 1-2 yard line Sheble punted to Starr, who caught the ball on the 40-yard line and made five yards before he fell. Brill fumbled, but the ball was recovered and Lockwood made first down through the same place. On the next play he failed to gain. Foster on a split play went outside tackle for 3 1-2 yards, but Pennsylvania was offside and the ball went to the 25-yard line. Brill bucked through for 4 yards and then another of 4 yards and then by three more Harvard put the ball on the 7-yard line. Lockwood went through Rooke for one yard and then Brill went through centre for two more yards.

This gave Harvard first down on the 2 1-2 yard line. Lockwood slid off Rooke and took the ball within a foot of the goal line. The ball was then given to Brill, and he took it over through Robinson for a touchdown, while the Harvard stands jumped and shouted for joy.

Starr punted out to Hurley, who caught the ball on the 12-yard line for an easy kick. Burr kicked the goal making the score: Harvard, 6; Pennsylvania, 6.

Folwell kicked the ball to Hurley, who ran from the 5 to the 42 yard line. He then went outside of Rooke for a short gain. Lockwood failed to gain. With the third down and two yards to gain Hurley made first down on the 47 yard line. Squires advanced the ball four yards, but Pennsylvania was offside and Harvard was given the ball on the 52 yard line. With Squires back, Lockwood carried the ball to Pennsylvania's 50 yard line. Squires followed with a 5 yard hurdle. Hurley on the split play made 4 yards outside of right tackle, and Squires then went through for four more yards. Brill was holding, however, and the ball was brought back 15 yards to mid-field. Burr dropped back for a punt. Hurley took the ball on a fake kick around right end. When tackled he dropped the ball, and Folwell fell on it.

Sheble failed to gain. Parker was taken out of the game for rough play. White replaced him.

Lamson rushed 5 yards with the ball, but Pennsylvania was caught holding, and sent back to her 42 yard line. Sheble punted to Foster, who was downed on Harvard's 35 yard line.

Lockwood made 5 yards, and Hurley 2 more. Lockwood then got 3 more outside Rooke. Squires failed to gain. Lockwood made first down on Harvard's 51 yard line. Lockwood was again carried past Rooke for 4 yards, bringing the ball exactly to mid-field.

Squires with Hurley dragging him went through the middle of the line for 6 yards, and then for two. Lockwood followed with a scant yard.

Squires then made first down through Pennsylvania's left wing, on Pennsylvania's 42 yard line. At the same place on the next rush he got just a half yard.

On a split play Foster failed to gain through Rooke. On the third down Starr tried a quarterback run, but Stephenson came in from the backfield and nailed him for a loss, giving Pennsylvania the ball on downs on her own 45-yard line.

Sheble punted to Harvard's 45-yard line.

Foster failed to gain on the first rush. On the next, Lockwood made only one yard, making it the third down and four yards to gain. Levene was hurt in the play, but returned to the game.

Burr dropped back for a punt, but Hurley faked, and made first down on Pennsylvania's 50-yard line.

Leary was caught holding and Pennsylvania was given 15 yards. For holding Harvard was again penalized, and the ball went back to the 20-yard line.

Hurley was nailed without gaining, and then Foster punted from the tandem formation. Stevenson fumbled, but recovered the ball on Pennsylvania's 48-yard line. Greene tried an end play, but Macdonald nailed him without gain. On a delayed pass Stevenson lost four yards.

Sheble punted. Levene nailed Foster without gain on Harvard's 30-yard line.

After two short gains by Harvard, Torrey was offside for Pennsylvania. Hurley failed to gain. Foster made 4 yards on line buck and Lockwood followed with three more.

Hurley made one yard, and on the third down Foster took the ball to midfield.

Hurley started into Pennsylvania's territory for three yards, and Lockwood followed through Robinson for first down. Foster then made one yard. Squires added two more, but Pennsylvania took the ball on downs on her own 47-yard line.

Stevenson led off with an end run, going 15 yards, but Lockwood nailed him. Holding then cost Pennsylvania 15 yards.

Stevenson once more tried to run, but fumbled on Foster's tackle. Folwell, however, recovered the ball on the 27-yard line.

Sheble punted, and Levene tackled Starr without gain on Harvard's 44-yard line.

Burr dropped back for a punt, but fumbled White's poor pass, Starr recovering the ball on thirty-three yard line.

In an exchange of punts Foster got the ball on Harvard's 45-yard line.

Burr then punted to Stevenson, who ran from the 33 to the 38-yard line.

Brill broke through and nailed Sheble for 13 yards loss on a fake kick.

Scarlett interfered with Foster's fair catch on Harvard's 54-yard line and Harvard was given 15 yards' putting the ball on Pennsylvania's 51-yard line, where Burr tried a goal from placement, Starr holding the ball. The ball went wide.

The ball was run back to the 25-yard line.

Sheble punted to Foster, who was tackled by Levene after a five-yard gain, when time was called.

Score, Harvard, 6; Pennsylvania, 6.

The Second Half.

Greene ran to mid-field after the kickoff from the 15-yard line. Stevenson tried an end run, but there was holding and the ball was sent back to the 40-yard line. Greene took the ball on a double pass, but did not gain, Macdonald making a splendid tackle. Sheble punted to Foster, who fumbled, Rooke getting the ball on the 25-yard line with a clear field before him and a good interference behind him, but Leary dove in front of the pile and stopped Pennsylvania on the 10-yard line. Harvard was offside and the ball went to the five-yard line.

Brill stopped Lamson without gain, and then Folwell almost went over. Pennsylvania was holding in the play though, and the ball was sent back to the 20-yard line.

Folwell made 10 yards on a long pass. Sheble then dropped back for a field goal, but Stevenson sent a quarterback kick over the goal line. Burr kicked out, the ball going over Greene's head. Leary tackled him after he recovered the ball on Harvard's 29-yard line.

Leary was hurt, but returned to the game.

Greene got less than a yard on an end run. Folwell got through the right side of the line for 20 yards.

Lockwood was taken out of the game.

Sheble lost two and Folwell five yards, the whole right side of the Harvard line throwing him back.

Harvard got the ball on downs and Burr punted out of bounds at mid-field. Hobson got four yards through centre. Folwell then tore through the Harvard line for nine yards.

Hobson gained six yards and then Folwell followed with 4 1-2 more. Sheble made it first down on the 30-yard line.

Rooke, went one yard through Brill. Lamson on the left side of the line added one yard, but the ball then went to Harvard on downs on the 26-yard line.

Sheble was ruled out of the game for slugging.

Burr punted to Stevenson on Pennsylvania's 51-yard line. Hobson made four yards through Burr and followed with five more. Robinson went over the pule for three yards.

Stevenson punted to Foster, who ran from the 10-yard line to the 22-yard line, Foster being hurt in the play, but remaining in the game.

The ball went to Pennsylvania, and Stevenson punted. Starr misjudged the punt, and it was Harvard's ball on the 13-yard line. Foster punted to Stevenson, who ran from Harvard's 51-yard line to the 41-yard line.

Bennis got eight yards around the end. Lamson went through for five more, putting the ball on the 33-yard line. Folwell on his next try made four yards. Lamson then made five, and Folwell added one more. Lamson gained 3 1-2 yards more.

Peirce took Burr's place in the Harvard line.

Squires was offside, and Pennsylvania has the ball on the 11-yard line. On the next play Lamson only got a yard through Squires. Lamson then gained two through Brill. Lamson took the ball to the 4-yard line through White.

Folwell goes outside of Squires for two more yards. Lamson now takes the ball within one foot of a touchdown. Pennsylvania scores amid great enthusiasm, Lamson making the touchdown.

Stevenson punted out to Bennis. Torrey kicked the goal. Score, Pennsylvania, 12; Harvard, 6.

Knowlton took Squires place, and Snyder went in for Macdonald.

Brill kicked off to Bennis, who ran from the five to the 45-yard line. Rooke gained four yards. Folwell gained one yard and Rooke two more through centre.

Foster hurt; Nichols took his place. Stevenson punted to Starr on the 35-yard line. Harvard penalized 15 yards for holding.

A fake kick gave Hurley one yard. Nichols punted to Stevenson, who fumbled on Pennsylvania's 50-yard line, Leary getting the ball. Nichols on the end made 12 yards to the 38-yard line, and then lost two yards.

Nichols fumbled on a fake kick, but Harvard recovered the ball on the 46-yard line.

Nichols ran on a fake punt, but did not make enough for first down. Pennsylvania's ball on her own 37-yard line.

Robinson makes a short gain. Time was called, game over.

Squires was offside, and Pennsylvania has the ball on the 11-yard line. On the next play Lamson only got a yard through Squires. Lamson then gained two through Brill. Lamson took the ball to the 4-yard line through White.

Nichols fumbled on a fake kick, but Harvard recovered the ball on the 46-yard line.

Nichols ran on a fake punt, but did not make enough for first down. Pennsylvania's ball on her own 37-yard line.

Robinson makes a short gain. Time was called, game over.
