PENNSYLYANIA GAME TODAY

In Philadelphia at 2.--Line-Up Practically the Same as in the Carlisle Game.

The annual football game between Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania will be played this afternoon at 2 o'clock on Franklin Field, Philadelphia.

The line-up of the University eleven will be practically the same as in the Carlisle game last week. Leary, who played through the second half, and showed the most improvement at end, will go in for Hall. Parker, who, owing to a slight injury, has been having only light work lately, goes back into the game at centre. As Carr is unable to play this week, and Paul is out of the game for the rest of the season, it is probable that Lockwood will go in at fullback. He has had little experience at that position, but during the past week has been playing a rather brilliant game, and as he is a fast runner, has done especially well in carrying the ball around the ends.

It is always impossible to form an adequate comparison of two teams, simply from scores, as many changing conditions must be considered. Carlisle, however, used practically the same style of play against both Harvard and Pennsylvania, and thus the games with the Indians give the best opportunity for judging the relative strength. In that game as well as in the game with Lafayette, Pennsylvania was extremely weak on the offense and unable to gain when within striking distance of its opponent's goal. Harvard, on the contrary, showed a remarkably strong offense, but was unable to hold against a faster team. In the practice of the past week much time has been given to remedying this latter defect and, if the team plays to day as it has in the last few days of practice, the chances of winning are good.

The average weight of the Harvard team is 184 pounds; of the Pennsylvania team, 177 pounds.
