The first Cambridge public performance of the "Counterfeiter" was given last night in the Pi Eta theatre before a large audience. The entire production showed marked improvement over the performance on graduates' night, and although there is a lack of action in the libretto and the effect of the songs was slightly marred by poor enunciation the ease with which the actors carried out the claborate stage pictures made a very favorable impression.
The play will be given tomorrow evening in the same place and on Saturday afternoon and evening at the Bijon Theatre, Boston. Tickets at $1.30 for the Cambridge performances, and a $1.50 and $1 for the Boston performances, may be obtained at Thurston's and Herrick's or upon application to H. Bennett, Box 104. Cambridge.
