Professor I. N. Hollis, chairman of the Department of Engineering, who was granted leave of absence at the last meeting of the Faculty on account of ill health, will sail from New York for Switzerland on June 14. On arriving in Europe he will go to Geneva, Switzerland, where he expects to remain during the summer and winter.
Professor Hollis will probably devote some of his time to making researches in engineering. With this intention he will make short visits to the larger technical schools of France and Switzerland, and it is expected that he will write some pamphlets on the subject. He will return to Cambridge next February in time to resume his courses in the University for the second half-year.
